Synopsis: It is 1944 and 10-year-old Max is determined to survive the war as it sweeps through his village. On his way home from raiding the battlefield for valuables Max has an encounter with a soldier that will haunt him for the rest of his life. Now an 80-year-old man Max returns to that exact spot to bury his guilt and forgive himself.
